Colorful Summer Wedding Inspiration at Providence Cotton Mill
When Brittany, owner of Flowing Willow Photography, invited me to create the florals for this colorful summer editorial at Providence Cotton Mill, I was so excited. She shared a collection of inspiration images and an overall vision, then trusted me with the floral design, giving me the creative freedom to create arrangements that felt true to my style.
The result was a joyful collaboration between an incredibly talented team of Charlotte, North Carolina wedding professionals, blending vibrant summer blooms, timeless details, and thoughtful design throughout every part of the celebration.
Nestled in Maiden, North Carolina, Providence Cotton Mill provided the perfect backdrop with its historic brick architecture, charming courtyard, and beautifully maintained grounds. Inspired by a palette of coral, peach, buttery yellow, blush, and soft blue, I designed lush, garden-inspired florals that carried the same story from the bridal bouquet and ceremony installation to the reception tables and thoughtfully styled details.
Whether you're planning your own Providence Cotton Mill wedding or searching for a Charlotte wedding florist who loves creating colorful, romantic celebrations, I hope this editorial inspires you to embrace seasonal flowers, intentional design, and the beauty of collaborating with an incredible vendor team.
A Joyful Summer Color Palette
With the overall vision established, my focus shifted to designing florals that would complement every thoughtfully chosen detail while bringing the color palette to life. Inspired by Brittany's vision, I selected blooms in shades of coral, peach, buttery yellow, blush, and soft blue to create arrangements that felt joyful, romantic, and timeless.
One of my favorite things about this editorial is that it proves colorful wedding flowers can still feel elegant and refined. Against the historic brick architecture of Providence Cotton Mill, the vibrant palette added warmth and personality while allowing the venue's character to shine. From the lush bouquet purse and garden-inspired reception centerpieces to the floral accents that enhanced the mobile bar and other thoughtfully styled spaces, every arrangement was designed to complement the overall vision and create a cohesive experience.
I especially loved seeing my floral designs paired with the beautiful faux ceremony arch by CD Marquees. The permanent installation served as a stunning focal point for the ceremony, while the fresh florals throughout the rest of the editorial carried the same color story into every part of the celebration.
Whether you're dreaming of bold summer blooms or a softer garden-inspired palette, thoughtful floral design is about more than choosing beautiful flowers—it's about creating a color story that ties every detail of your wedding together.
Thoughtful Floral Design from Ceremony to Reception
One of the things I love most about wedding floral design is helping couples create a celebration that feels cohesive from beginning to end. Rather than viewing each floral element as a separate piece, I approach every wedding with the goal of creating a cohesive floral experience that flows naturally throughout the day.
That starts with getting to know each couple's vision and understanding how they want their wedding to feel. From there, I thoughtfully select flowers, colors, textures, and floral placement that complement the venue and work together to create a unified design. Whether it's a garden inspired bridal bouquet, romantic reception centerpieces, floral accents for a specialty bar, or other carefully chosen details, every arrangement has a purpose and contributes to the overall story.
When every floral element works together, the result feels effortless, welcoming, and beautifully intentional. My goal is for couples and their guests to experience a celebration where every detail feels connected, allowing the flowers to enhance the atmosphere without ever competing for attention.
Bringing the Vision to Life Through Collaboration
One of my favorite parts of this industry is collaborating with other creative professionals who are passionate about serving their couples well. While every vendor brings a unique skill set to the table, it's the shared vision and attention to detail that transforms individual elements into a cohesive celebration.
Under the creative direction of Flowing Willow Photography, this editorial came together through the talents of an incredible team of North Carolina wedding vendors. From the elegant stationery and handcrafted cake to the live music, specialty coffee cart, vintage getaway car, and thoughtfully curated rentals, every detail was chosen with intention to create an inspiring wedding experience for couples planning their own day.
It was an honor to contribute the floral designs for this collaboration and work alongside so many creative professionals who are passionate about serving their couples well. If you're planning a Providence Cotton Mill wedding or searching for a Charlotte wedding florist serving couples throughout the Charlotte and Western North Carolina area, surrounding yourself with a trusted vendor team makes all the difference in creating a celebration that feels seamless, personal, and unforgettable.
